How to change the language in PhotoCraft
Learn how PhotoCraft chooses its menu language on first use, how to change saved preferences, and why CJK pages start with English menus.
Open editorMenu paths use the editor’s English labels. The website language and the editor language are separate settings.
Choose the website language
Use the globe menu at the top of the page. Use PhotoCraft offers English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese. On a guide, changing language opens the same article in that language.
The root homepage opens in English. Use the language menu to switch, or bookmark your preferred language’s URL. Save your image before changing the website language on an open editor page: that navigation reloads the editor.
Change the editor’s menus
Inside the editor, open Edit → Preferences → Interface. Find Language in the Presentation section (scroll if needed), choose a language and confirm with OK. On first use, supported menus follow the website language; Chinese, Japanese and Korean pages start with English menus. Once editor preferences are saved, the website keeps them when you switch pages or return later.
The editor stores preferences locally. A different browser, browser profile or device may have different settings. Our tutorials use the English menu labels so you can follow the same paths with English selected.
Why some CJK characters may be missing
A translated menu still needs a font containing its characters. The upstream browser bundle ships with Inter and JetBrains Mono, and cannot automatically use every font installed on your computer. Chinese, Japanese or Korean labels may therefore appear as boxes or missing glyphs.
This is separate from the website translation and from fonts used inside a PSD. Choose English for readable editor menus when needed. A document with unavailable fonts may still need those fonts or a flattened reference image to check its appearance.
If the menus become unreadable
First download any unsaved work. Return to the language preference and choose English if the controls are still recognizable. Opening Use PhotoCraft in a private window is a way to check the default editor settings without changing the preferences in your normal window.
Clearing this site’s browser storage can reset preferences, but also removes other locally stored site settings. It will not recover an unsaved document. Use that option only after saving, and avoid clearing data for unrelated sites.
